MuHack Account

When you become a member of the association, you're given a <nickname>@muhack.org account, where <nickname> is the name you picked when you became a member.

This account is registered in our Google Workspace, and gives you access to all the web services hosted by the association, as well as an email inbox. You can use it to log in:

• Your Gmail/Google Drive/...
• This wiki
• Our Proxmox VE cluster
• The VPN
• Give us more ideas...

By using the MuHack-provided Google Workspace email account, as well as any other services provided with it, members acknowledge and agree to adhere to the Service Policy.

MuHack Service Policy

Welcome to MuHack! This User Policy outlines the expectations, guidelines, and responsibilities for members using our shared server and services. Our goal is to maintain a respectful, productive, and sustainable environment for everyone.

General Conduct

• Respect other users and the shared infrastructure.
• Do not engage in illegal activities.
• Keep things constructive — this is a community space, not a battleground.

Fair Use

The MuHack server is a shared community resource. To keep it available and fast for everyone:

• Avoid running persistent, CPU- or memory-intensive processes.
• Don't use the server for cryptocurrency mining, mass web scraping, or similar resource-heavy activities.
• Keep scheduled tasks (like cron jobs) minimal and spaced out.
• Store only what you need — large files or backups should be hosted elsewhere if possible.
• If you need to run something intensive for a short time (e.g., a compile job), ask first via our community channels.

Admins reserve the right to stop or throttle processes that disrupt other users or the stability of the system.

Service Abuse

Examples of service abuse include but are not limited to:

• Running a public-facing service without prior discussion
• Spamming email or network traffic
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users’ files or sessions

Violations may result in temporary suspension or permanent loss of access, depending on severity.

Email Usage Policy

This policy applies to all members of MuHack who are provided with Google Workspace accounts, including a 30GB storage capacity and a personalized email address. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the email service is used appropriately and primarily for hackerspace-related activities.

• Purpose and Scope: The provided email accounts are intended for communication and activities directly related to MuHack, such as project collaboration, event coordination, and community engagement.
• Limited Reliability: MuHack does not guarantee the reliability or continuity of the email service. Members should not rely on this email account for critical personal or professional matters outside the scope of hackerspace activities.
• Account Termination: Upon termination of membership, the associated email account will be deleted without further notice. Members are solely responsible for migrating any important data or subscriptions to another email provider before their membership ends. MuHack will not provide assistance or recovery options for deleted accounts.
• Acceptable Use: Email accounts should be used primarily for MuHack-related purposes. Personal use is permitted only if it is minimal and does not interfere with hackerspace activities or violate this policy.
• Prohibited Activities: Members must not use the email accounts for illegal activities, spamming, sharing sensitive or confidential information unrelated to MuHack, or any actions that could harm the reputation of the hackerspace.
• Security Responsibilities: Members are responsible for maintaining the security of their accounts, including using strong passwords and not sharing login credentials. Any suspicious activity, such as phishing attempts, should be reported to MuHack administrators immediately.
• Monitoring Guarantee: While MuHack reserves the right to monitor email usage for compliance with this policy, there is no guarantee of privacy for communications sent or received through these accounts.
• No Liability: MuHack is not liable for any loss of data, missed communications, or consequences arising from the use of the provided email accounts. Members use the service at their own risk.

TL;DR: Don't use this email address for your bank account. We will not be able to recover your deleted data after you terminated your membership.
